Evolve Staffing Ltd. is seeking a resilient, autonomous, and highly skilled Band 7 Emergency Nurse Practitioner (ENP) to join a fast-paced Emergency Department (A&E) and Urgent Treatment Centre (UTC) at an established NHS Hospital in Stevenage.

In this high-profile autonomous practitioner role, you will utilize your advanced clinical skills to look after patients presenting with a wide range of minor injuries and illnesses. You will be responsible for the entire patient episode—from initial assessment, triage, and history taking, through to physical examination, diagnosis, autonomous treatment, x-ray interpretation, and safe discharge or referral.

Key Responsibilities:

  • See, treat, and discharge or refer patients presenting with acute minor injuries (e.g., fractures, wounds, burns, soft tissue injuries) and minor ailments autonomously.

  • Request and interpret diagnostic investigations, including skeletal X-rays, blood tests, and urinalysis, in accordance with local trust protocols.

  • Practice as an Independent Nurse Prescriber (V300) or utilize Patient Group Directions (PGDs) to administer medication safely.

  • Provide clinical leadership and support within the emergency department, mentoring junior staff, student nurses, and junior doctors.

  • Ensure stringent compliance with emergency care targets (including four-hour access standards) while maintaining clinical excellence and patient safety.

Requirements & Qualifications:

  • NMC Registration: Active Registered Nurse (Adult) PIN.

  • Specialist Qualification: Completed, accredited Emergency Nurse Practitioner (ENP) qualification or Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ANP) pathways.

  • Prescribing Status: Independent Nurse Prescriber (V300) is highly advantageous, though strong PGD experience is considered.

  • Experience: Substantial experience working within an NHS Accident & Emergency (A&E) department, Urgent Care Centre, or Minor Injuries Unit (MIU) at Band 6 or Band 7 level.

  • Certifications: Evidence of competence in minor injury management, suturing, plastering, and skeletal X-ray interpretation.
