Evolve Staffing Ltd is seeking a highly experienced and dedicated Consultant Psychiatrist for a specialized Older Adult Inpatient placement in Blackpool. This high-profile role involves leading clinical care across two dedicated wards, supported by a robust team of resident and middle-grade doctors.

If you are a S12 and AC Approved Consultant with a passion for Older Adult Psychiatry, this 6-month contract offers an excellent opportunity to influence patient outcomes in a well-structured inpatient environment.

Clinical Setting & Ward Structure

You will oversee two distinct units totaling 33 beds:

• – Ward 1 (18 Beds): A functional and advanced care ward focusing on complex mental health needs in older populations.

• – Ward 2 (15 Beds): A specialized dementia ward providing expert care for cognitive impairments and associated behaviors.

• – Team Support: Each ward is staffed with Resident Doctors and a Middle Grade Doctor, providing a strong clinical support network for the Consultant.

Key Requirements

• – Specialist Credentials: Full GMC Registration with a License to Practice and inclusion on the Specialist Register (Psychiatry).

• – Essential Certifications: Must be Section 12 (S12) Approved and an Approved Clinician (AC).

• – Educational Leadership: A Registered Trainer status is compulsory for this position.

• – Clinical Expertise: Extensive and demonstrable experience in Older Adult Psychiatry is essential.

• – Presence: This role requires full-time on-site participation; no remote working is available for this placement.

Responsibilities

• – Provide clinical leadership and final decision-making for patients on Ward 1 and Ward 2.

• – Conduct regular ward rounds and multidisciplinary team (MDT) meetings.

• – Supervise and mentor Resident and Middle Grade doctors.

• – Ensure all statutory requirements under the Mental Health Act are met (S12/AC duties).

• – Develop and review complex care plans for functional mental illness and advanced dementia.
