Cancer Clinical Nurse Specialist (GZW042)

Evolve Staffing Ltd. is currently recruiting a dedicated Band 7 Cancer Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) to join a leading NHS Trust based in Stevenage.

As a Senior Cancer Care Nurse, you will act as the pivotal point of contact for patients navigating complex oncological pathways. You will provide expert clinical advice, lead nurse-led clinics, manage complex symptom control, and support patients and their families from initial diagnosis through active treatment regimens (including chemotherapy and radiotherapy) and into survivorship or palliative care.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage a dedicated caseload of oncology/cancer patients, delivering high-quality, evidence-based specialist nursing care.

• Lead specialist nurse-led clinics, performing holistic needs assessments (HNAs) and formulating individualized care plans.

• Provide expert clinical leadership, mentorship, and supervision to Band 5 and Band 6 oncology nurses within the multidisciplinary team (MDT).

• Coordinate complex care pathways, working collaboratively with Oncologists, Radiologists, Surgeons, and Palliative Care Teams.

• Act as a strong patient advocate, ensuring compliance with National Cancer Peer Review standards and NHS quality frameworks.

• Contribute to clinical audits, service development, and nursing research to continuously improve patient outcomes.

Requirements & Qualifications:

• NMC Registration: Active Registered Nurse (Adult) valid PIN with the Nursing and Midwifery Council.

• Experience: Minimum of 3–5 years post-registration experience within oncology nursing, cancer care, or haematology, with significant experience at Band 6 or equivalent level.

• Education: Possession of a post-graduate qualification in oncology care, chemotherapy administration, or advanced physical assessment is highly desirable.

• Skills: Proficient in symptom management, psychological support, and handling complex clinical data. Excellent British English communication skills, both written and verbal.
